Concrete steps that have been taken by the province of Riau are the development of aren. Through the plant breeding program, it was hoped that can produce a variety of new superior cultivars. A part from having high productivity, there are also other characteristics that support effort to improve the quality and competitiveness. In the field of agriculture, germplasm is widely studied and collected to increase agricultural products and food supply. Germplasm is a source of genes that are useful for improving plant character. Plant identification is expected to provide information on the superiority of sugar palm based on the special characteristics possessed by these germplasm.
